Message from the Chairman

Dear Chapter Members:

2016 promises to be a great year to get involved and grow the CoreNet New Zealand chapter!

As your new chapter Chairperson, I am keen to build on the many successes of previous years. To achieve this, the Executive team is focused on Amplifying the quality on all that we do and we invite you to join us and pass on the news to other like-minded professionals.

Get involved - Amplifying opportunities to connect: CoreNet New Zealand has a legacy of providing top notch speakers and tours. In 2015 we sponsored and organised almost 20 events and activities keeping our sponsors and growing community of members busy. In 2016, with all the exciting commercial projects currently taking place in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch there are many opportunities for tours and events, and the team are very much looking forward to holding a significant CoreNet event in Christchurch in April 2016, with details to be announced shortly.

Symposium - Amplifying the excellence of our key event.  Titled “The Age of the City” this year’s symposium is particularly relevant as our cites show unprecedented growth. With a range of quality international and local speakers, the symposium will focus on the big issues facing our cities in the 21st Century, the likely impacts these issues will have on business and how, as corporate real estate practitioners we can use these changes to benefit our businesses, clients and customers. The symposium will be held on Thursday 16 June, 2016 at Shed 10, Queen’s Wharf, Auckland.

Learn - Amplifying your opportunities to learn and grow. The New Zealand Chapter will again provide our members with the opportunity to gain a Master of Corporate Real Estate (MCR) designation. This year we plan another two day course in April. Last year CoreNet New Zealand established the Young Leaders Programme for under 35 year old professionals, introducing the mentoring scheme to provide support and mentoring to our emerging professionals. Further activities are in planning this year to grow this group.

Relevance - Amplifying our alignment with your requirements.  The CoreNet team is committed to amplifying our relevance to New Zealand Chapter members and sponsors. To achieve this we plan to connect with a cross section of you by way of an on-line survey and a series of interviews. Our objectives are to more deeply understand our shared New Zealand context and in particular your requirements for the CoreNet group to ensure we develop and strengthen our relationship with you, the members and sponsors.

As your new Chapter Chairperson, I am excited to join forces with the CoreNet Executive Committee to Amplify and Elevate all that we do by providing more exciting events and valuable initiatives throughout 2016.

On behalf of the CoreNet team, we look forward to any suggestions and ideas you may have, we hope you will join us in Amplifying your membership in 2016 and getting involved with us.

Finally, and most importantly, thank you to all our Sponsors and Members. Without your support, our plans and shared experiences could not be realized.

Kind Regards
